subject: Brick As The Most Favored Material For Finishing A Home's Outer Walls [print this page]

Those getting new homes have had a tough time trying to choose the best material to use for the exterior finishing of their home walls. Well, most people easily settle for brick, maybe due to its unique appearance, texture and longevity.

Many people find some wonderful beauty in the brick sidings and they are also very strong and durable. They remain in excellent form for ages and they do not need painting at all.

The brick siding is strong enough, fadeless and is able to withstand the harsh weather patterns and environmental onslaughts with no problems at all. It can insulate as well as help to protect the house from the varied temperatures.

They bricks are normally protected from water and moisture by use of clear vanish because they are porous. So they remain intact in the rainy season as well as under freezing winters and thawing periods of the year where such climate is the norm.

It can be applied to wood framed wall over building paper, using the cement, sand, lime, and water mixture in mortar form that fastens them in place.

The mortar fixtures for holding the bricks together are also decorated in beautiful patterns like the V-joined, concave, flush bricks, extruding in between the bricks, or raked.

The newest thing in imitation of the brick and mortar wall sidings is the brick veneer which is actually fabricated in the factory from synthetic material. It is much lighter than the old type of brick and comes in many different colors, sizes, texture, patterns that are quite modern. It is durable too.

Those who choose the brick facade sidings should at least find the qualified brick layers to do a proper job for them.
