Being so young I couldnt help but feel like the doctors could have done more to help her. For a long time I was angry with all doctors, then I realized that they do their best to help the patients they have and sometimes there is nothing they can do. My grandmother stayed alive longer because of them and once I realized how hard they had tried I decided I wanted to help people. Since then, I have always wanted have a career as a neonatal nurse or any kind of profession in the medical field, I just want to spend my life helping people. I later learned that the cost of schooling for a career in the medical world was out of the question for me at this time in my life.
I knew that I wanted to help people and do something in the medical world, I began talking to a friend of mine from work about the average salaries for medical transcription and realized that becoming a medical transcriptionist would be a great way to start out in this field. A big advantage of working in the MT industry for me would be the flexibility. I am an eighteen year old who just graduated from high school and Im trying to help support my family. Not only will I be attending school, I will also be working full-time at my current job, which I have held for over a year. This program would be good because not only could I work but I would be getting the education I need to go further in my life, and get closer to reaching the goals I want to achieve in my life long career. This program interests me because it is an online medical transcription course that can be completed in a short amount of time. I feel that it will be a good start towards the main career goal I have or I may like it so much that I will not have to further my education. This program will also be good because I can do it from my house. I believe that is a good thing because I can still spend time with my family which is a big thing for me. My main concern with going of to college was that I wouldnt have time to make it home to see my family because all of my time would be spent on schooling and having a job to pay for it. Another great thing about the program is that it is much more inexpensive than going to a college for this degree, even Edinboro University costs more than I can afford. When I complete this program I intend to go straight to work. I will then quit the job I have now so that I can learn more in this field by doing it hands on. I intend to learn as much about this work as I can and once I have worked in it I will decide if I need to further my education in another area of the medical field or if I am content as an MT.
