subject: The Do's And Don'ts Of Looking Great On Your Big Day [print this page] You are probably imagining yourself either walking down the isle or standing at the head of it waiting to meet your fianc. You either want to hear that gasp or be the one feeling it in your chest; the one where it sinks so deep that your heart lets you know that this is in fact the very moment you have always imagined. No matter whether you are the soon-to-be-bride or groom I am sure you are thinking about your overall appearance and how to help spruce yourself up or be ready to look your very best. There are some for sure do's and don'ts that can keep you at the top of your game.
"Do's"
Keep a routine workout. If you don't already have an established workout routine, then make one. If you need extra motivation you can enlist your fianc, a friend or a personal trainer. No one can get hurt from a little exercise, so this is a great habit to establish regardless of getting married. Continue and keep it up after the wedding, because it's also another way to help avoid those comfort pounds that are infamous for appearing after marriage. Be sure to keep your diet healthy and full of whole foods.
Stay on top of all your cosmetic practices. Make sure to keep you hair cut and styled as you like it; including waxing and plucking.
"Don'ts"
Don't go crazy fake and baking or spraying to try to get "color." Just keep a simple natural-looking color. Whatever your natural is. Avoid getting burnt for sure; you don't need to be looking like a fried lobster, nor do you need to have swimsuit lines imprinted into your skin.
Don't go on crazy crash diets just to fit into your dress or tuxedo. For one, these are never the healthy route to take and they only create cantankerous moods; the same with exercise. Don't wait to the last minute to decide you want to tone up or loose five pounds. This is not the time for procrastination. Obviously if you fell in love the way you now look there is no real issue at hand.
This definitely isn't the time to choose a new hair style or color. Sure it could turn out to be really great, but it could also be a complete disaster. Try to keep a classic look that will last for years to come. You want to be able to look at your wedding pictures and not shriek with the terrible fads when you look at them in the years to come. Just try to look like yourself. Don't over glam your make-up.
We all have a desire to look our very best on our wedding day. The key is to look like the very best YOU. If you know what works for you then keep it. If you would prefer a change then make sure that you allow for plenty of time to change your mind if need be. It's natural to want to look good for your fianc. Hopefully that feeling won't change and it continues throughout your marriage. Not in an obsessive-compulsive kind of way, but in the way that you want to be your very best for yourself first and then your spouse. So get out there and rock your best you!
