subject: Tri-county Lexus Consumers Find Recall Aid From Local Dealers [print this page] Boy oh boy has it been a rough month for Toyota and its affiliate brands. If you hadnt heard (and we know you have), the Toyota recall of the Prius set off warning alarms across the country, and the companys leadership was called into question by our government a fact that Piscataway Lexus dealers are hoping to put behind them as soon as possible. Unfortunately, it looks like the popular luxury brand has run into more trouble, recently announcing another recall that will affect 138,000 different Lexus models in 2006, 2007 and 2008 GS, IS and LS vehicles across the U.S. This is certainly an unfortunate turn of events, but Tri-County Lexus dealers are doing everything within their power to ensure drivers of these cars get the support they need.
The engines that will be affected in these models are the 4.6 and 5.0 liter V8s and the 3.5 liter V6 engines. Piscataway Lexus dealers helped file a Defect Information Report (DIR) with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to ensure the recall goes as smoothly as possible. According to the report, these engines might have a manufacturer defect that allows foreign material to contaminate some of the valve springs. The defect may contribute to abnormal noises, engine idling and complete engine stoppage. For Tri-County Lexus dealers, the main purpose of the recall is to make sure that more drivers on the road are safe, regardless of what the news might do to brand loyalty.
"We want to assure our customers that their safety and satisfaction are our top priorities, said Mark Templin, Lexus Group Vice President and General Manager, in a statement about the recall. We take the NHTSA's test results very seriously and appreciate the NHTSA bringing its concerns to our attention. Our engineers conducted similar testing during the development of the new HS 250h and the vehicle performed safely. While we are investigating and vigorously working to understand the different test results, we have stopped delivery of the involved vehicles. As soon as the issue is better understood and/or a remedy is developed, we will contact every owner. Customers who have any questions or concerns should contact their local Lexus dealer or Lexus Customer Satisfaction at 1-800-25LEXUS or 1-800-255-3987."
For Piscataway Lexus dealers, the news is sure to strike a blow to the reputation of the brand, but it is more important that the drivers of these cars are kept safe from potential accidents. At the very least, the initial Toyota recall is over and no more deaths have been reported as a result of defective vehicles. This recall, which seems to be underway in a much swifter way than the previous one, shows Toyotas commitment to making safety a number one priority among its cars. For Tri-County Lexus drivers, its important to get in touch with a local dealer to gather more information about the recall. It could mean the difference between years of hassle with your vehicle, something everyone wants to avoid.
