Kovalam Beach

The crescent shaped Kovalam beach is visited by thousands of tourists in a year. It can be easily reached from Trivandrum, the capital city of Kerala. The beach funs one can enjoy while traveling this beach are sunbathing, swimming, rejuvenating ayurveda massages, special cultural programmes, Catamaran cruising, etc.

There are beach resorts located near this beach. Tourists like to halt at a beach hotel for holidaying at Kovalam. Most of the beach resorts offer ayurveda massage facilities. One can buy souvenirs at the beach stalls and enjoy a Kathakali dance programme in the evening.

Varkala Beach

Located on the outskirts of Trivandrum Varkala beach is a mystic beach having some spiritual importance. People have a belief that one having a bath on the waters of Varkala will get rid of sins. There is an old temple and a meditation centre located near Varkala beach.

Kozhikode Beach

Calicut is the old name of Kozhikode. It was once the capital of the rich Zamorins and hence was a prominent trade centre in the Malabar region. The Portuguese navigator first landed at Kappad beach of Calicut. A stone monument inscribes the arrival of Vas Co Da Gamma. A temple believed to be 800 years old are located at Kappad beach.
