subject: Is Diet & Exercise Really All You Need To Lose Weight? [print this page]

I'm sure you've heard it time and time againI'm sure you've heard it time and time again. If you want to lose weight, just diet and exercise! It sounds so simple, but it wasn't easier said than done. But it really is all you need. The only problem is that you probably don't know what it means to diet and exercise, and it seems like this horrible thing so you may not even want to learn about it. This makes it easy...

First, let's tackle the diet part. This doesn't mean you should go on a crash diet like the low-carb or low-fat. It simply means you should pay attention to your diet (which is what you eat) and adjust it for healthier living.

If you slowly introduce healthier foods (yes, healthy foods can taste very good) into your diet and begin to get the bad stuff out of your diet, then you'll be on the right track to have more energy and a slimmer body.

To figure out what is healthy, just try to eat as natural as possible. Fresh fruit, vegetables and meat is the way to go. And prepared right, it tastes even better than the processed junk!

Second, the exercise part. If you live a completely sedentary life (you don't move much) then it's time to get started! If you are fairly active, maybe you need a boost to kick start your body into fat burning mode.

Weight lifting is the best way to achieve this. Not only does weight lifting permanently increase your metabolism and help you keep fat off your body long-term. It also revs up your metabolism even more for 1-2 days after each workout.

When you understand what diet & exercise means, you'll be able to get real, lasting results without feeling intimidated.
