After that there was no looking back as Lakers went on demolishing one team after another. On 12th November, the Lakers were able to defeat their fiercest opponents, the Suns by 121-102 score line. Suns are a difficult side to get hold of but the LA Lakers did it in an impressive way. Perhaps this was the victory that paved way for the Lakers to the championship finals.

On January 13th LA Lakers outclassed the Mavericks by a dazzling 131 to 96. The Mavericks are considered to be West Coasts 2nd best and toughest pack but that simply wasnt their day.
13th January was the day when Lakers and Celtics played a historic basketball match. It was a true entertaining and thumb biting contest with both sides trying their level best to reach the hoop. Lakers were able to beat Celtics by an extremely minute 1 point margin and the final scores were 90-89. On the 24th March Lakers were able to defeat the Spurs with a convincing 99-92 victory that reserved their place as the NBA champions.
There were numerous factors that contributed a lot to the winning streak of Lakers. Bryant and Pau Gasol proved to be the match winners every time their team needed them. Apart from that Derek Fisher, Ron Artest, Jordan Farmer and Vujacic proved as powerful boosters when called upon to play.
