subject: Wilton New Porsche Models Sport The Fewest Initial Defects In J.d. Power Study [print this page] Porsche managed to come out on top and uphold its reputation as the epitome of quality and engineering as it ranked as the top brand overall in this years J.D. Power and Associates annual Initial Quality Survey. Wilton new Porsche customers should find it reassuring that the brand loved by many of its owners.
J.D. Power and Associates surveys thousands of consumers about their vehicles each year and then compiles the findings to rate each brand of auto in the industry. The ratings are determined by how many problems are reported in a model per 100 vehicles. The industry average was 108 per 100 vehicles. Porsche scored a remarkable 83.
Westport used Porsche dealers were likely not surprised by this number, as they know the quality that Porsche models retain and that even used models have few problems overall. Other brands with few reported problems were Acura with 86, Mercedes-Benz with 87 and Lexus (Toyotas premium nameplate) with 88.
Ford managed to break into the top five ranking for the first time even with a report of 93 problems per 100 vehicles. A few of the brands to land in the bottom five were quite shocking. Jaguar with a 130, Mini (Really, BMW?) with 133, Volkswagen with 135, Mitsubishi with 146 and Land Rover with 170. Many of these are pricey brands with solid reputations. I guess we just never know.
This survey is extremely important in the auto industry and measures the number of problems that owners have in the first 90 days of ownership. That makes it important because many are likely factory issues and not something resulting from wear and tear. Wilton new Porsche puts a lot of stock in the J.D. Power and Associates report because it does get the information from consumers complaints and they focus on the first three months of ownership.
Individual awards are given as well in vehicle categories. Some of the models which improved over last year were Ford Focus, Ram 1500 pickup and Buick Enclave. This survey also is a gauge, to some extent, of what will sell well in the industry over the next year. After all, we are more likely to listen to other buyers opinions of their rides than a flashy commercial.
Westport used Porsche customers can use this survey as a guide and it should guide them right to the Porsche showroom where they can see for themselves why the brand rated so high.
