subject: Traveling With A Pet (or Without One) [print this page] Ive been planning a vacation for quite some time now. The tickets are booked, the hotel is waiting, and Im excited to go, but there is a rub in my plan. I have a cat needs to be looked after while Im gone. For a long time I thought I was going to have to hire a pet sitter, but as it turns out I might not have to after all thanks to my travel agent. You see my travel agent told me that that all I really need to do is to book a trip that will be a great experience for me, and my pet!
The first thing my agent suggested I do was to book a flight that would allow me to bring my cat. She arranged everything and it went off without a hitch. Next she booked a hotel for me that was pet friendly, so now my pet and I can both enjoy this vacation together. See, the best part of being a pet owner is being able to experience life with your pet. If you were always leaving your pet at home, there would be no real point in having a cat or a dog, or whatever type of animal you might have as a pet. Being able to share my vacation with my cat made a rewarding experience just that much more enriching.
I also must note that I felt like a much more responsible pet owner by being able to bring my cat with me. I dont like the idea of a stranger looking after my pet for me. If I can be there to take care of my pet then I want to be the one who is taking care of my cat. I dont like the feeling of leaving town for weeks at a time and then coming back and feeling like my cat is giving me the evil eye and telepathically telling me that I am a bad parent! I know it sounds silly but I really do think that pets miss you when you are gone, and I certainly do believe that they get lonely when you are gone, so it feels good to know that my agent set up a trip that allowed me to have my pet with me. I didnt have to worry about my cat while I was gone and ultimately I enjoyed my trip much more than I otherwise might have.
