subject: Who Did I Get That One From? [print this page] There is nothing more fun and useful to plan for friends who are expecting than a baby shower, but coming up with new and original baby shower ideas is not always easy. One of the worst things that can happen at a baby shower is that everyone sits around and conversation dries up and one of the best things you can do to deal with this possibility is to have some baby shower games on hand to relax people and to get everybody talking more naturally.
One of the most amusing baby shower games you can play is one called "Who did I get that one from?" in which a number of pre-printed pieces of paper are passed around containing a list of about 20 or so attributes that the baby to be will possess when it grows up; for example... Nose shape, nose size, eye colour, ear size, hair colour, legs, bum, intelligence, sense of humour and anything else you can think of. Next to each one of these, there are two columns one labelled mum and the other dad. Each of the guests then has to tick the box they think the baby should get this attribute from. Would the child be better with its mum's ears or its dad's? How about dad's legs or mum's? Of course if you don't know the sex of the baby then this could become quite complicated but that simply adds to the enjoyment and gives a lot more room for discussion later.
When all these forms are filled in, the mother (and maybe the father!) gets to say what their answers would be, in the case of both of them doing it they have to agree with each other which could make everything even more funny. At the end of the list, the guest who gets closest to all of the parent's answers wins a prize.
