subject: How To Cook Chicken On The Stove [print this page]

If you're someone that's new to cooking or just not sure about the right ways for cooking chicken you've reached the right place. Cooking chicken is easy to do and work through as it's an excellent meal that's moderately easy to put together for a night in alone, your entire family or for when guests come over. Even if you're used to nothing more than putting in a TV dinner you can do this.

Before you begin to cook you'll of course needed to gather supplies. You'll need salt and pepper, medium sized frying pan and whatever amount of chicken breasts you need for the amount of people you need to cook for. The following will help you get the chicken prepared.

The first thing you need to do is wash all the chicken breasts. Like above it's totally up to you on how many chicken breasts you'd like to cook. Just cook enough for the night or you could cook a little more and have some leftovers. Regardless, just make sure that you wash your hands with soap and water immediately after handling any raw chicken and prior to touching anything else.

Take the frying pan that you gathered and put it on the stove. Be sure that you coat it with more than enough oil to allow the bottom to be completely coated. You'll want the temperature to be on medium high when cooking chicken. To cook healthier and also get a better taste use extra virgin olive oil to coat your pan.

Now let the oil heat up and after a minute or two the oil is going to be hot and it's time to begin cooking the chicken. Using a pair of tongs you'll want to put the chicken into the pan. It's likely the oils going to splatter a bit so don't be alarmed. Put salt and pepper on the chicken to taste. When the bottom side takes on a golden brown color you'll want to flip the chicken over. Cooking chicken is going to vary in time dependent on the stove but will usually take 4-6 minutes.

When the time comes you'll want to turn the chicken over and you'll then salt and pepper the other side to taste as well.

After you've flipped the chicken over you can salt and pepper the other side to taste now. Cook the other side to golden brown just like you did the first. Don't take the chicken out right away; first cut a small piece off so you can make sure that it's cooked all the way through. After you've done that remove from the pan and serve. After you've finished you'll realize that cooking chicken isn't that hard and takes no time at all before you're ready to enjoy an awesome meal.
