subject: Choosing Your Tiles Properly [print this page]

It can be quite difficult to choose the right kind of ceramic tile when you are currently undergoing a tile project. Most of us dont realize how many ceramic tiles are available in the market today. These tiles come in hundreds of styles, colors, sizes, shapes and grades, which can make decision-making very hard and arriving at the specific conclusion seems hazy.

A lot of us grow more confused and sometimes it is best if you rely on professional opinion or do your tedious research in order to help you in the process. For neophytes in the ceramic tile field, it would be best to choose the neutral ceramic tiles in terms of color and style. The shape, grade and style depend on what room you are trying to install the tiles with.

More often than not we see neutral colors and designs of white, off-white, almond or gray in many houses. But, the most common choices among houses today for ceramic tile colors would be white and the almond. However, other people tend to experiment and be flexible with colors.

Usually, people tend to purchase tiles that are sized 4 1/4 square wall but due to flexibility and difference in styles other people try out some other sizes such as 12 x 12 or 18 x 18, which is often larger than the usual trend. Do-it-yourselfers would often go for smaller sized like the 1-inched Brandon tile because of the convenience and ease of installation.

A larger tile St Pete has would often be hard to install by do-it-yourselfers because of the presence of other factors like underlayment and making sure that there is uniform evenness of the surface. The choice of which tile to use would entirely depend on your style and preferences. People, who often experiment on tiles, would usually like to mix and match in order to create patterns so that the flooring would be elegant on its own.

The mix and match technique is much easier done on smaller sized Brandon tile than other types of tile. You can create your own pattern of these 1-inched sized tiles by combining them together and form a much larger tile for finish.
