subject: See Samoa With The Family [print this page]

There is so much to do in Samoa that your family holiday will be over before you have time to blink an eye. Whether you want to catch some waves or go swimming with turtles, Samoa has it all.

The main island is made up of nine islands. The most popular is Upolu, where you will find the majority of sightseeing and activities.

Seeing The Waterfalls Of Samoa

Your family will fall in love with the natural landscapes of Samoa, especially the immensely powerful waterfalls with surging rapids - others are much more calm and you can actually have quite a lot of fun with your family swimming around in them.

One of the most powerful waterfalls that you can stand in awe of is the Papapapai Tai Falls which fall 100 metres. For the more adventurous families, you can go to the Togitogiga Waterfalls where you can play in the swimming holes. You can also hike to the Sopoaga Falls and the Fuipisia falls.

Search around and you will see that you can swim along the falls, stand beneath them and even take half -day tours crawling down them.

Underwater Caves And Picnics With The Family

A unique spot that you can take your family to on the Samoa Islands is the Methodist Church at the Piula Theological College. If youre not religious, thats OK, because youre not going to church.

Located underneath the church itself is an entrance that will lead you and your family to an amazing cave pool. Two caves are connected in this underwater entrance and you can make a nice afternoon out of it with a family picnic after seeing the caves.

White Sand Alternatives

Most of the beaches on Samoa have pristine white sand, but at the Aganoa Black Sand Beach, you will find, black sand against beautiful, clear blue waters. The best way to get to this beach is through a boat excursion from the Maninoa village as you can only drive there from a 4WD track. You can swim and snorkel in these waters but just watch out for the stronger currents.

Other Samoa Attractions

If you want to have a girls day out, go to one of the Samoan spas where you will be treated like a queen (or princess) in the midst of nature. All body wraps and facials are made out of natural substances.

You can also take your family out for a few hours to swim alongside huge turtles in the Savaiis Satoalepai village in the wetlands.
