subject: Website Content Prerequisites For Online Marketing [print this page]

Web content and web design are the most visible and perceptible part of the website as they come directly in contact with the audience. The web content brings the traffic to the website, web design drags the attention of the visitors to read the content, and web content convinces the visitors to avail the services/purchase the products. Thus, the quality web content should be impressive enough to convince the readers and be rich in keywords to drag the traffic through SEO or other online marketing techniques.

Website Content Prerequisites:

Authenticity: Website Content should be authentic. Website is an official document, hence, the company is liable for the information it provides.

Fresh & Unique: A copied content does not achieve high ranking in search engines and even if it gets, it becomes difficult to generate leads from it. Hence, the website content should be fresh and unique to draw the concentration of the visitors.

Simple and Flawless: Website content should be simple enough so that a reader can easily understand the crux of the content. Avoid grammar and other mistakes as such mistakes leave a bad impression on the readers.

Length: Ideal length of web content is between 300 to 700 words. Usually a web content below 300 words does not provide complete information and the visitors get distracted to other websites to read the incomplete part. And if the length of the content is above 700 words, the reader may not read it till end due to lack of time or interest. Thus, maximum information in minimum words is the main parameter for the length of web content.

Keywords: Authentic information and flowery language are not enough to make content an ideal website content. Web content without adequate amount of relevant keywords is useless. Online marketing especially SEO revolves around the keywords, i.e., the term searched by the web users. Without adequate keywords a website cannot be promoted online, yet keyword stuffing should be avoided as it may spam the web content. Ideal keyword density is between 2-6% depending upon the length and the number of keywords used.

Title of the Web Content: the title or the headline of the web page should be relevant to the content. Placing a keyword in the title is very beneficial for SEO purpose.
