subject: Curling Hair With Big Curling Iron [print this page]

Curling your hair with a straightening iron is a fast and efficient method of styling. Here we discuss on how to curl your hair using a big curling iron.

The requirements are:- a curling iron, a round bush, hair protectants, hair clips or bobby pins and a hair spray.

To begin with wash your hair using a shampoo and follow it with a moisturizing conditioner. Use a hair protectant to safeguard your hair from damages due to heat. Make sure to dry your hair well before applying heat.

Now switch on the curling iron and allow it to heat up. Care should be taken while using the iron. Always hold the iron in the hand which gives you greater control over its use and applicability.

Partition your hair into smaller sections and secure those using bobby pins or hair clips. Start ironing the hair that is around your face. As the plates of the curling iron are big, use the iron about 2-3 inches away from the root of the hair. Gently slide the iron through the entire length of hair. Twist the iron and wrap the hair around it, at areas you want to produce curls, and leave them for 5-10 seconds. Dont hold it too long as it will burn your hair.

Gently pull out the curled hair from the iron and clip them immediately on top of your head, using the hair clips. Allow them to cool down naturally. Repeat the same process until all the sections of hair are complete. Allow them to cool before unclipping them. Do not use a brush to comb. It will remove the curls. Just use your fingers and run them through the hair to enhance the curls. Apply a hairspray to finish it. This will also help in retaining the curls for longer.

Notes:- Applying a curling cream on the hair will help in enhancing the curls. Always keep your curling device clean by washing its plates with water. Do not touch the plates of the iron while it is hot, as it can cause burns. Make sure not to leave the iron on the hair for long time as it can damage your hair.
