subject: Is Surgery The Only Answer To Cure Obesity? [print this page]

Today more and more people are climbing the weight scales and being classified as "obese." Is the only answer for them to go to a specialist and have surgery to lose the weight? No way! The best way to lose weight and get down to your natural weight is to do it naturally and slowly. It may take time, but it will be worth it in the long run.

If your waist line has been growing and you can't seem to slow it down, it will be very tempting to consider surgery to get rid of the problem. But if you get surgery it has long lasting effects that will completely change your whole life. Instead, you should look to a more natural way to change your life and become healthier, yes you can do it!

The first step you need to take is to learn about your body and understand what is causing you to gain weight. If you just don't know right now, start devoting an hour a day to studying your body instead of watching TV.

By increasing your knowledge just a little every day you'll soon be able to spot what is causing the weight gain. Maybe it's too much processed food or too large of portion sizes...or both. When you figure it out, start thinking of ways to change those habits into better ones for the long run.

Don't try any crazy diets, just change small things at a time. Start grabbing the smaller plates in your cupboard and just plan on going for seconds. You may find that you're full by eating quite a bit less.

Little changes to your life over time will have huge effects on your weight and overall health. Start today and commit to learning about your body and understanding what you eat and you'll save yourself the pain and cost of surgery.
