Even newbies have the ability to create up to ten characters that they can play in warcraft. Although it is possible to have many characters in the warcraft environment even the most die-hard WoW players rarely use more than three or four characters. Although this is normal and a great way to enjoy the game by focusing all your efforts of levelling just one character having 10 characters can really help you and your guild and group members in the game!

There are numerous positive reasons to start playing with more than just one WOW character. Firstly, having several characters to play with allows you to experience different aspects of the game by understanding different races and different classes.

With the many different pros and cons for different races and different classes it can really be an eye opening experience to try them all out. Experimenting with different character types can allow you to fully experience the benefits and drawbacks to certain races and classes.

This gives you a great opportunity to experience many different aspects of the game and gameplay. The other great thing is that you can pass money, materials and equipment onto your secondary characters so levelling up is not as troublesome or time-consuming as it is with your first character!

It is great for Alliance members or Horde members see the others side of the track by taking on a character the belongs to the enemy. Doing this can help you better understand the entire game and how your enemy plays it!

It is also a good idea to start a character that will be of help to your particular group. You can also create characters that are races and classes that your group or guild would benefit from. If you take the time to build up a few characters with different skills and abilities you can become indispensable to your group or guild. You never know when it would be a good idea to change character when a group you are in requires skills that you have deliberately developed in another character.

In battle this gives you an almost unfair advantage. Anyone who enjoys a lot of PvP will know that there are certain classes and races that are difficult to beat with your main character. A good idea is to create a character like your enemy and PvP with it. This will show you its weaknesses and its strengths.

Of course there are also disadvantages to having multiple characters.

Time is always an important factor and this can be a pain when you have to split your time between characters. It can also cost a lot.

Unfortunately equipment that binds to a character when it is picked up can't be transferred to secondary characters. You cannot transfer reputation either.

However, I believe the advantages well outweigh the disadvantages.
