subject: Good Dog Or Bad Dog? [print this page] Fine dog or awful puppy? I think understand that it's good to praise your pet dog for the behavior you would like (good dog) and scold it for manners you don't want (awful dog!). That helped me to using this please dog-whisperers ... I let Three dogs out your front door at late late night at night for some minutes for any last possiblity to relieve themselves. They have a multi-acre area to perform in. When I call them, 2 on the 3 come back immediately. The third (at all times exactly the same dog) won't.
The 3rd puppy require much more calling to have back inside. It often takes 5 minutes. Sometimes Need to go hunting for it. I'm getting very discouraged.
The question: If your third dog does eventually keep coming back ... Should i praise it for coming back, or scold it because of not coming when I called? Or scold and praise in a few clever combo? Or what please?
In addition, I'm presently caring for four dogs, considered one of whom usually forget her name once i want her to come back. That dog can be a terrier, who are known to be extremely absent-minded (it could be helpful to know the dimensions and strain of your pet, just in case it's got certain characteristics which have been just ingrained into its DNA - you can work around their quirks, do not fret!)
If you're in fact winning in calling the dog last, I'd praise them to be this type of fine puppy an extra shot with many different affection and tummy rubs. I would introduce a delicacy to the puppy finding its way back, which would perform certain incentive to come back fast (and continue the good work! practicing to achieve perfection!) You could also go in terms of to yell out into the darkness their "treat word". Ours is, "do you need a biscuit/chew/swizzle?!" This usually brings the herd out of your darkness and barreling in the lounge room.
Mainly, your dog doesn't understand that it had been supposed an extra shot as well because the others. Our dog is a couple of years older, a terrier, plus a loner from your pack while out. It's not necassary to scold canine when it doesn't keep coming back right after doing his business; just make clear he's a fantastic dog for finding its way back when he does.
