subject: Carrie And Mike Having A Blast In Tahiti [print this page]

Carrie Underwood has to feel like she is leading a charmed life. She is the winner of American Idol and has since launched an extremely successful country music career. Even her look has changed. If you were to compare a picture of Carrie in her American Idol days to a recent photo, it is almost like night and day. She changed her hair, lost weight, and even looks happier then she ever has before if that is even possible. Carrie Underwood would contribute the last part to the man in her life, her new husband, Mike Fisher. She and Mike exchanged vows on July 10th. The wedding was held in a tent at the Ritz Carlton Reynolds Plantation Resort in Atlanta, Georgia.

The $500,000 wedding and reception was huge with over 250 close friends and family attending. Carrie looked stunning in her Chantilly lace and silk Organza Monique Lhuillier gown by Swarovski but wasted no time changing into a strapless Lhuillier cocktail dress so she could dance. "She said she wanted to get her boogie on," says a source. Her pup, a miniature pincher wore a pink, crystal encrusted tuxedo (also by Swarovski) and looked absolutely dapper as he accompanied Carrie down the aisle.

Reporters flew in helicopters and the lake waters were filled with boats with cameras zoomed in on the action. Celebrities like Simon Cromwell and Faith Hill enjoyed themselves at the lavish event and a great time was had by all. There was also scripture reading and wonderful food. Carrie has been quoted as saying that she feels extremely blessed by God and that she is so happy that she found Mike. The two were engaged for just about a year before tying the knot.

Carrie booked the entire hotel for the wedding at a cost of over a quarter of a million. Not to worry, it is rumored that she will come out ahead after selling the photo rights to People magazine for several million. Hopefully, Carrie and Mike will use some of that to buy wedding favors. With that kind of cash, they could buy some very unique wedding favors for the friends and family that show their support on the biggest day of their lives. Mile Fisher is a successful Canadian ice hockey player with a lot of career ahead of him.

After the wedding, Mile and Carrie headed for Tahiti and Bora-Bora for some sun and a relaxing honeymoon, if you can call helicopter rides and snorkeling with sharks relaxing. They left with very little luggage and big smiles. You would think that with her touring schedule, his game schedule and a huge and eventful wedding that the couple would want to just disappear from the limelight but they have made no attempt to either slow down or hide their whereabouts. It is refreshing when celebrities as popular as these two live their lives out in the open and are not afraid to say a few words to the press and their public now and then.

Most celebrity couples go into hiding after a secret wedding to get away from everyone. Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher seem to be actually enjoying themselves right out in the open and for that reason, reporters and even the paparazzi are keeping a little distance. It is so nice that they are able to enjoy each other, their honeymoon, and allow us to enjoy it with them. No word yet on how long the couple will honeymoon but knowing Carrie and her appetite for work and her desire to please her many fans, it won't be too long before she is on the road again.
