In south Spain, there is city shining without efforts. It is Seville, the financial, artistic and cultural centre of Southern Spain and the fourth largest city in the entire Spain. In terms of heritage and architecture, it is believed that there is no other city that can parallel with Seville in Southern Spain.

Climate in Seville is largely influenced by the Mediterranean Sea, but in summer from July and August, it is going to be very hot with the maximum temperatures of 35.3 C. Winter is mild here as the lowest temperature is 5.2 C. Besides, another feature of Sevilles climate is known as low annual precipitation. Only in December, there will be a lot of rains.

City Motto: NO8DO

There is a sign you can see everywhere in the city, NO8DO. It can be seen on the common sidewalks, buses, taxis, monuments, the caps of city sewer and water system, and even on the worldwide known explorer Christopher Columbuss tomb. Its overwhelmed prevalence makes every tourist very hard to ignore it.

The motto consists of two Spanish syllables NO and DO and a figure 8. According to its pronunciation in Spanish, it sounds quite like It [Seville] has not abandoned me.

The story underneath this motto is that there was a king in Sevilles history named Alfonso X who was also a poet, astronomer, astrologer, musician and linguist. Later, when his son, Sancho IV of Castile, tries to usurp his throne, the people of Seville were still loyal to their king. That is believed to be the origin of the motto.
