subject: How To Hypnotize Someone In Ten Easy Steps [print this page]

Most old films depict hypnosis as something so mysterious and powerful. It is often re-enforced by the image of an evil hypnosis who waves his pocket watch back and forth someone's eyes until they ripple to oblivion. Hypnotized people are presented as if they have become slaves of the the hypnotist.

But this is not how hypnotism actually works. Modern understanding of hypnotism interprets it as process of giving out very strong suggestions. People placed until the trance of hypnotism have absolute control over there minds and bodies and anything that they do is a product of free will. The hypnotist is merely a guide or a source of suggestive directions which fuels the imagination of the subject. This very imagination is what brings the subject into doing what he or she would not otherwise do when not hypnotized. This process is quite simple that you can try and learn how to hypnotize someone by following the tips below:

1. To achieve good responses, you have to make sure that your subject is concentrated and relaxed. You will make suggestions and make sure that your subject knows what to expect from your suggestions.

2. Hypnotism works best when the subject has trust and confidence on you. Talk to you subjects and make them feel comfortable. You should tell them what to do and what to expect while being hypnotized. Telling them the condition their minds will enter into while being hypnotized is often more effective than that while hypnotizing occurs.

3. Ask how much your subject knows about hypnotism. This will necessarily help you assess how to deal with your subject's psyche.

4. Inform your subject about the procedure. Tell you subject that there is nothing to fear about hypnotism, that they will not be forced to do what they do not want to do or say what they do not wan to say.

5. Know relevant answers to frequently asked questions about hypnotism. By appearing to know many things about what you are putting your subjects into will help you establish trust.

6.Before you go on with the process, make your subject lie down or sit in a comfortable position and dim the lighting of the room you are both in. Keep anything which can provide distractions away from reach or hearing - things like cellular phones, television, or any multimedia player.

7.Ask your subject to close his or her eyes. Make you subject imagine being in his or her own happy place.

8. Using a low tone, slowly speak in a soothing matter to your subject. Talk simultaneous to his or her breathing and slowly give instructions. Eventually these instructions will become suggestions until you they reach being directions. You will see if your subject is already relaxed and when he or she is, you may proceed with the interrogation.

9. Your subject should be ready for suggestions. Use this opportunity to ask questions or suggest things your subject might want to do. Perform things necessary to achieve the goals of the hypnosis.

10. To stop hypnotizing your subject, simply tell your subject to stop imagining by suggesting that they will get out from hypnosis through a snap of the fingers or after counting five counts.
