subject: Bad Publicity Affects Traditional Posting Services [print this page]

The traditional posting services that have inhabited the UKs posting market have come under scrutiny over the past couple of years. The strikes that took place about a year ago had serious consequences on the reputation of these services and prompted people to look elsewhere when they needed to send a parcel within the UK or abroad, the online parcel companies stood in and helped out many people who needed a quick alternative to the Post Office and many of these customers have never looked back and now continue to use these online services.

Recently, a leading service that has been around for many is asking for the compensation that their clients are entitled to be waived due to poor financial figures. This is unlikely to help with the popularity of the company as there are a considerable amount of disgruntled customers that are expecting compensation of some type and the news that they are trying to get this waived is sure to be met with numerous complaints, especially given the ways that a customer can vent their anger nowadays.

The companys reason for asking to have the compensation waived is reasoned by the fact they say that if they have to pay out the money then there will be no finances left to modernise the company, something that customers may feel is justly deserved for the problems they caused. The long term effects of the strike and resulting problems is not clear yet but if the number of customers that originally left decide not to return then they could be in for some troubles in the future as their revenue is likely to reduce which is going to be problematic.

They say any publicity is good publicity but this must be exception to the rule as the popularity of the traditional posting services has decreased considerably and left the online couriers in a very good position. As people also become more internet savvy, an increasing number of people are going to turn to the online couriers when they need to send a parcel to another city in the UK or abroad. The services they have on offer are unrivalled by any other posting service and it is easy to see why they have been so popular.
