We all know that how much important a RAM chip is, without which we can't operate a computer. RAM stands for random access memory. Your computer can boot without a mouse or a keyboard, but without a RAM a computer won't boot at all. The same can also happen in case if the RAM is faulty.

RAM being an integral part of the computer controls a lot of features of a computer. To start with, it is needed for booting a computer. Then it also controls the speed at which a computer works.

Any software you use, need a certain amount of RAM, without which the software will not operate properly or sometimes even won't install at all. Be it a windows operating system or an Adobe flash player to any other software, all have certain RAM specifications.

Hence, if there is not enough RAM a lot of things won't work. Now, there is something called virtual memory which is not directly related to RAM but we can say that both are interdependent on each other. Remember, lesser the RAM, more the virtual memory and vice versa. If there is not enough RAM in the computer then the virtual memory has to be increased.

Now, where does this virtual memory come from? It comes from the hard drive. If there is less RAM then a certain portion of the HDD is used to act as a RAM. By the way the rule says that virtual memory should be a minimum of 1.5 times and the maximum should be 4 times of the total RAM. You can talk to a remote PC repair company to boost virtual memory.

If there is not enough RAM the first thing which would show up is slow performance of the computer. Whatever optimization is done, it won't help. In a system, which has a lot of data it needs enough RAM to execute data properly. In case the computer has games installed or any HD job is done on the pc then a good amount of RAM is highly necessary, else it would slow down the pc badly and the job wont execute properly too.
