Thai marriage visa requirements

A.You must be married to a Thai national.

B.You must have a combined income of 40,000 baht. There are several options that you can pursue in order to meet the financial requirements.

a.One of the most viable options is for you to open a bank account in Thailand two (2) months before applying for a marriage visa in the country. You need to deposit the amount 40,000 baht.

b.On the other hand, if you have already have a 40,000 baht pension or income, you simply need to show some supporting documents. In order to do this, you need to acquire a certification showing your financial sources then submit this to your local Thai embassy. The latter will provide you an affidavit that you can use in applying for a Thai marriage visa. You may be also required to submit other documents such as income tax returns and bank statements.

In case you still find it hard to comply, the income can solely come from your Thai spouse as long as it amounts to 40,000 baht. Under such circumstances, your partner needs to provide taxation records.

Once you have completed the necessary documents, you are now ready to have your Thailand marriage visa.

In hindsight, a Thai marriage visa can be converted to a one-year (1) marriage visa. It likewise allows its holder to open a bank account in the country.
