When damage takes place, shingle roofs don't usually need to be completely replaced, like other types of roofs do. Most of the times, it's enough to replace the damaged shingles and this isn't very difficult, especially if you're a proficient do-it-yourselfer. However, when replacing a shingle, you need to be really careful not to cause any damage to the ones overlapping it.

There are many reasons why you should choose a shingle roof over other types of roofs, with their durability and low cost being the most relevant and convincing. So, if you haven't yet decided what kind of roof to select for your new house, you might want to go for a shingle roof.
