subject: Students Unions: Some Purposes Of Being A Union Member [print this page]

Some students like different extracurricular activities as a part of the education in college. The learning process can be exciting and challenging as well, though most students think that they can be creative only when participating in plays, sports events, and fairs. Painting and cooking are interesting but are not the same as being a member of a student union. There are different student unions all over the world. Some of the student unions are rather conservative and resemble a secret fraternity, whereas others are always involved into antiglobalistic demonstrations and conflicts with police. As a rule, peaceful demonstrations are not interesting either for media or for police. In this respect, conflicts arising from student unions demonstrations are really effective in terms of the goals reached.

1.As you probably know, the attention to different issues is one of the main purposes of demonstrations.

2.Student unions are working on these demonstrations and meetings and planning every issue in order to attract attention of the media and different authorities.

3.The main concepts that deserve attention, as suggested by student demonstrations, include global issues, the level of education, conditions for students, and different political and cultural events in their native country and in the global arena.

4.Global warming is one of the issues often approached by antiglobalistic organizations such as Greenpeace and other less known institutions.

5.Conditions and the level of education can be considered one of the burning issues in most countries of the world.

6.Events in the cultural and political life of the country are often regarded as perfect topics for student unions demonstrations.

Student unions are organizations that are aimed at uniting students from different countries representing different cultures to reach some common goals.
