subject: Motoring News: Are They As Good By Knight As They Are By Day? [print this page] Last nights Top Gear once again provided a whole hour of entertainment coupled with two very high profile guests. Speed-loving film stars Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz thrilled viewers of the top UK motoring show Top Gear, by topping the leader board of celebrities in the shows racetrack challenge.
The duo, who are promoting their new film, Knight and Day, appeared on the BBC show last night and took part in the star in the reasonably priced car challenge, according to Glamour magazine, and added amazing driving skills to their long list of achievements. It comes as no surprise that the pair excelled in the challenge, with it being common knowledge that they do their own stunts - usually involving fast cars and motorbikes.
Glamour magazine reported that Cameron broke the lap record with a fantastic time of 1 minute 45.2 seconds, but her reign was short lived when Jeremy revealed that Tom rocketed round the track in 1 minute 44.2 seconds, proving no mission is impossible for him.
From Top Gun to Top Gear, Tom cruised around the infamous race track in Surrey making it look as easy as acting out a scene from a Hollywood movie, although there was one hairy moment when the car he was driving ended up on two wheels just before gliding across the finish line.
The daily mail website reports that the mischievous pair larked around trying to reveal the identity of the Stig while filming the scenes for the Sunday show but even the likes of Hollywoods A-list celebrities couldnt unveil the mystery.
This latest episode of the hit BBC show really stepped up a gear from last weeks Motorhome madness, which saw Richard Hammond and James May being the mischievous pair while allowing Clarksons home-made motorhome creation to topple off a cliff-top and smash into hundreds of pieces.
