subject: Make Time For Exercise - You Do Not Have Time Not To [print this page]

For hundreds of years physical activity has been associated with strength, fitness and health. Today research has confirmed that link over and over again. There is overwhelming evidence that people who do enough activity that engages their muscular system are less likely to experience major diseases such as heart disease, diabetes or cancer and dozens of others. These same people are also less likely to die an early death.

As for the all-too-common number one reason (excuse) for not exercising - "I don't have time to exercise." Somehow, you have got to make the time, or you are going to be faced with medical problems. And that will take a lot more time to deal with them that it ever takes to do 2-3 exercise sessions each week.

It is not all about time either as if you neglect your strength and fitness and land a 'chronic lifestyle disease' it is unlikely that you can be cured. Many of these 'modern' health issues can at best be managed but the real issue is that the victim is left with a much lower quality of life for the remainder of their life.

So, trading your health for whatever else you think has more priority is not a good long term self care strategy. It is easy to put it off while your health is good but how do you know when you have pushed the limits? Most of these nasty diseases have spent 10, 20, 30 or more years just getting to the point where there are identifiable symptoms that the medical system can diagnose.

You may spend years feeling 'not quite right' or 'slightly unwell' or lacking energy and 'get up and go' but there may not enough evidence to pin point a problem. But it is there alright, smoldering away beneath the surface getting its best grip on your body and maybe even your life.

Our modern lives with their stress and 'busyness' load us up with stress hormones that cause us to become overweight and sick and unless we take some time out just 2-3 times each week to dissipate it and re-balance ourselves we are asking for trouble.

The human body has been designed to be active - very active. Take that away and you may as well play Russian roulette with a loaded gun. As each year ticks by and you allow your body and all of its systems, processes, cells and tissues to weaken and degenerate it gets to a point where the wheels fall off and there is nothing that can be done to restore health and wellness.

Don't take the risk, get yourself along to your local gym or fitness center and get yourself started on a proper program of strength training exercise that will pump 'growth and repair' hormones along with oxygen and nutrients to every cell and tissue.

This is what will keep them young strong and healthy so you can disease proof your body and never ever become a victim of these terrifying diseases that we see take our family and our friends from us well before their time.
