subject: Potatoes Roasted To Perfection [print this page]

You can surely find a lot of recipes which try to give you the chance to prepare rather a good meal of roasted potatoes. However many of you aren't satisfied with just "rather" good and try to achieve perfect results. This is why we have created this article. It provides you with the recipe about how to create the perfectly roasted potatoes which are good enough even for the most exquisite of tastes.

However you will need some ingredients to cook that meal, but you probably already have them in store. You will need eight medium or large potatoes; 100g of oil no matter if it is vegetable or olive- choose it accordingly to your taste and preference. And of course as any other dish, you will require some seasoning herbs to flavor the potatoes. And you will need something to prepare the dish in, so make sure you have a large saucepan, peeler, fork and a roasting tin.

After you have laid your hands on all this, you can start cooking the dish. The first thing you need to do is to skin and bowdlerize the potatoes. It is the best choice to use a potato peeler to skin the potatoes, however you could also use a knife, but it is not recommended. The reason why a peeler is better than a knife is not only that it is easier but the peeler also keeps the healthy vitamins inside the vegetable while if you use a knife you will probably ruin them. So, when you finish peeling the potatoes start cutting them approximately in the size of an egg. Don't be worried if you miss the size by a bit, however strive for perfection.

The next step is to put the potatoes in the saucepan and start filling it with water until the potatoes are covered. Let the potatoes boil for about 6 minutes, but be careful not to overboil them. After the six minutes pass use the saucepan lid to trench the water and afterwards, allow the potatoes to completely cool. While you are waiting for this to happen, you can arrange the roasting tin. Spill the oil in it and put it into the oven at a temperature 245C.

When the potatoes are cooled, use a fork to scratch their surface, however be careful and do not create big craters. When the oil is starting to sizzle put the potatoes in the oil and turn them around so that they are fully covered with oil. If they aren't covered evenly, they won't roast properly and it will result in a ruined dish.

Return the roasting tin to the oven and allow the potatoes to cook for 50 to 60 minutes. Halfway through the sixty minutes turn the potatoes around so that they can evenly roast. When the sixty minutes pass the potatoes should look crisp on the outside, but the inside will be soft. In the end, the only thing you should do is enjoy a perfectly roasted meal.
