subject: Is Your Computer Running Slow Because Of Unneeded Applications That Use Your Pcs Memory Up? [print this page]

It's difficult to meet deadlines when our home PC does not stay up with our sometimes crazy work load. If you are involved with a home based business you know exactly how important your computer is. And it is really frustrating when it is so sluggish it nearly crashes each time we use certain resource intensive applications requiring a lot of computer memory.

There can be a number of reasons for the computer running slow issues. And it's in distinguishing some of these causes that we might discover actual solutions - even the easy fixes that we can perform ourselves. And of course saving money is important to all of us today.

Even the new personal computer may be performing too slow, especially if the manufacturer of your Computer installed before you received it some unneeded applications ahead of purchase. What you need to try is to start up your computer and see the notification part of the lower task-bar (usually seen at the lower right part of the monitor where the current time is being shown, depending on where you have placed your desktop task-bar). There are some icons hidden in the task-bar that in fact is running in the background while you are doing your work. This means that it could eat up some of the free storage capacity from your PC, making it function slower as multiple applications are running.

If you want to make sure, click right on top of the task-bar and also then select "task manager" and the Windows Task Manager should pop-up. You can even open this by mashing the shortcut "control-alt-delete" key while the computer is on but be careful and simply push the shortcut key once or your PC will restart itself. Now you can see how many applications operate in the background (counting the amount of memory storage capacity they utilize). Also, simply close unnecessary programs by highlighting the specific program and then clicking the "End Task" button.

And of course there are other causes for a computer running slow but doing these things will most certainly help your personal computer work faster than than it has been.
