The Sony Ericsson Vivaz Red has a large 3.2 inch TFT resistive display capable of displaying up to 16 million colours to bring to life a powerful handset featuring an 8.1 megapixel camera, social networking and messaging functionality.

The handset features many other impressive applications (apps) including integrated Facebook and Twitter for social networking, Google Maps for directions and other location based services, YouTube for videos, Picasa for photo uploading and sharing with friends and QuickOffice document reader for email attachments. The operating system is Symbian Series 60 (Fifth edition) and is powered by a 720 Megahertz processor.

The phone has an 8.1 megapixel camera with touch focus and both face and smile detection along with a flash when in use in poor light conditions and an image stabiliser to avoid blurriness which may be created through slight movement of the handset when taking pictures. The video light and digital zoom up to four times also provide the perfect setting for HD video recording. Both images and videos can then be instantly shared on social networking services or via messaging, and there is also a send to web feature which will send either directly to a personal website or blog.

The Vivaz Red has plenty of entertainment features including 3D games preinstalled, video clips and video streaming capabilities and Media Player for a sorted music library including album art. Mp3 and AAc audio files can also be set as the ringtone by the user, while more music can be downloaded via PlayNow and music track intelligence is provided by the TrackID feature. The handset also has an integrated FM radio.

Connectivity is offered through the microUSB connector with USB mass storage and support for fast and easy file sharing between the handset and a compatible computer. When linked to a compatible printer meanwhile, the PctBridge connectivity supported offers an instant method of printing photos taken with the powerful camera. Bluetooth is also present including the A2DP stereo wireless headset support, along with the traditional headphone socket.

The handset has an onscreen Qwerty keyboard which provides a simple interface for typing when using the text and picture messaging, and the instant messaging also featured. A straight forward email client can connect to all major email providers and Exchange ActiveSync is great for Exchange users.

The Sony Ericsson Vivaz Red is an impressive touch screen handset with many impressive features besides its very powerful camera. It has a microSd card slot which offers up to 32 gigabytes of storage for near endless contacts, applications, music and more to be enjoyed form wherever the user may be.
