Toothache is a broad niche and can be caused by anything - ranging from the teeth cracking to decay of the roots of the teeth. Garlic tops the list as one of the best products that can be employed for toothache treatments. Garlic is often placed over the affected part - sometimes a pinch of salt is also employed along with the garlic. The combined effect of the garlic juices and the salt will be advantageous in eliminating the aches associated with the tooth. Another important ingredient that is widely employed for the same procedure is clove. Clove extracts are commonly used in the modern era toothpastes, because of the same functionality. Raw clove, when chewed in the mouth will release certain alkaloids (in combination with the saliva). The resultant mixture will be able to cure toothaches.

Onion is another common ingredient that is used in the kitchen and which can be used for treating toothaches. Sometimes the aching of the tooth can be caused due to a bacterial infection. The bacteria will start eating into the root of the tooth and will cause the tooth to dislodge. In such scenarios, it is better to chew materials that are rich in agents that prove to be detrimental to the bacteria. Onion is one such agent, invest on a few pieces of the same, and you will realize that toothaches were history.

Dentists have revealed that a major share of the problems seen with the tooth is due to the diet of that specific person. Sugary foods might taste good - but did you know that they are capable of producing harmful effects in the body? They cause obesity and now they are known to cause many medical ailments on the mouth, specifically the teeth. The problem occurs as follows. When someone indulges in sugary foods, traces of sugar and acidic materials will lodge themselves in the teeth. These materials must be cleaned with the aid of a toothbrush and suitable liquids. When we tend to ignore the same, these materials might start "eating" into the teeth - causing toothaches.

In order to avoid such situations, you will have to a) avoid sugary foods completely or b) rinse the inner aspects of the mouth thoroughly. The former does not seem to be a bright choice, hence it is better to stick with the latter. Most of the dentists recommend the brushing your teeth at least twice in a day - once in the morning and once before bedtime. The mouth is noted to house many bacteria, it is better to take precautions today than be sorry later.
