subject: 3 Reasons Why Promotional Advertising Pays Dividends [print this page]

Let's face it, promotional advertising is all about attracting interest in your product or service. But there are so many options available how do you decide on the best method and what is going to work for you and your business?

How many of us know what is meant when someone says I'll meet you at the golden arches? There wouldn't be many people on this planet that don't understand that marketing strategy. Why does it work so well and how can you get the same results for your company?

One of the main reasons a particular advertising campaign works better than another has a lot to do with exposure. This is not just from the road signs but on getting their brand or logo onto everything they produce.

Promotional products are a proven way to success for your business. Pens and key rings or key chains have long been an accepted way of getting your message to your public but these days there are so many other products available. In fact, virtually any item you can think of can have your logo and contact details printed on them.

Branding your business means spreading the word that what you have to offer is what your customers want. The logo does not necessarily need to be in the symbolic form of the golden arches. Think Microsoft and its plain message in a name. Microsoft are counting on their product carrying their message to the multitudes.

If you have a great image or idea for a logo it may well pay to go with it. This time think Apple then relate that to iMac and what has been achieved here is an idea through association. Apple computers were sold on their logo initially but reproduced on their iMac logo.

Promotional products are a constant reminder to your potential and existing customers. Every time someone picks up a pen with your logo your business is gaining exposure.

But why stop there? Think about the possibilities. What about the packaging you use to send your customers home with their products? Is that a plain bag or does it have your logo and details?

There are other ways to get your promotional products earning you dividends. While cost is a factor in any advertising campaign you can save money by ordering larger quantities and dealing with the same distributor - the ones who have your details on file so the costs are reduced.

Corporate promotion and promotional gifts are a great way to establish customer loyalty and shouldn't be overlooked when planning a strategy for your next marketing campaign. Not everyone has the millions of dollars to spend on advertising and television campaigns as do the larger chains.

If you include promotional advertising in your budget, create an eye catching logo and include your brand on anything you can think of the results may be surprising.
