I used self pointing when I said 'people' so she would leave me alone the next time I walked by. She would find it hard to sell more to me!
Her eyes glazed over and she went into a quick trance. Since she was completely scripted, when I broke her script her mind went blank as she tried to recover, so I was able to slip in commands.
