Every morning of a British student begins with the sausage and haricot in tomato sauce, fried egg, toasts with jam, juice, tea or coffee. It is advisable not to be late for a breakfast otherwise one would have only toasts and jam. If one is late he/she can not regret. At 11.30-12.30 studying process is interrupted by lunch.
The studying process
The studying process in Great Britain differs from that one in some European countries. Students also attend lectures and seminars. But the main point of the studying is the independent studies and researches that end by essay writing and passing an exam in the end of a semester.
The education in Great Britain is of narrow specialization. Lectures contain the basic material but not the whole information. Nobody makes a student study. He is supposed to come to college with personal aim and desire. Motivation and feedback conception are the distinguished features of British higher education, though during the last twenty years those tendencies are applied in other European countries.
Inspection and open-criticism lesson are used in Great Britain not to reveal mistakes in teachers work and then punish him/her but in order to help the colleague and provide qualitative education for schoolchildren and students.
The end of students day
Students day finishes with dinner at 5.30 p.m. As a rule it includes vegetarian food or meat with salad, fruits and pudding. And everyday is the same routine
But such monotony does not seem to confuse British students. They cope with difficulties easily and enjoy a life as other people. They make trips around the Kingdom and all over the Europe, make acquaintances and communicate with great pleasure.
But the distance can be felt in those smiling, thanking, and all the time apologizing people. British have a very reverent attitude to their own privacy. This feature is provided by century-long customs and traditions.
