subject: The Sony Ericsson X10 Mini Pro Will Undoubtedly Improve Your Social Life But Will It Entertain You? [print this page]

The new Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro is the worlds smallest Android Smartphone with a full QWERTY keyboard; it comes with a super intuitive interface, a digital camera, a very good web browser and a multimedia centre. The X10 Mini Pro also integrates your social networks together for a complete SNS overview and there is support for multiple messaging and e-mail services.

Sony Ericsson have managed to produce a cute yet functional device in the form of the Xperia X10 Mini Pro; despite the extra few millimetres and grams it looks almost exactly like the X10 Mini, the main display is a 2.6inch QVGA touch screen its very responsive and utilises a built-in accelerometer so you can flip to landscape mode and take advantage of the keyboard, this mode is also useful for browsing the internet. The phone in general is hard to put down; its screen is very responsive and boasts the four corner menu tabs where you can drag-and-drop your favourite widgets so they are never more than a simple thumb tap away. Sony Ericsson have opted for the Android 1.6 version which translates very well into the super compact format and the fantastic TimeScape overlay which has already been successfully downsized to fit the X10 Mini has been included in this model too! Effectively TimeScape integrates all of your social network activity with your contacts, missed calls and messages, tweets from Twitter and updates from Facebook, they are all brought together in one application and organized with the latest events on the surface. The X10 Mini Pro delivers a pretty good web browsing experience, the WebKit browser is supported by 3G network coverage and Wi Fi connectivity; they both offer reliable, high speed connections to the web and the 600MHz processor seems to send you through pages at almost warp speed. Well the phone does supply a dedicated Facebook application so you can handle you account, manage your profile and update your status, generally it works very nicely and its quite easy when you master the QWERTY keyboard.

The Xperia X10 Mini Pro comes with ActiveSynch compatibility so you can synch your phone to business accounts and popular e-mail providers like Hotmail, Gmail and Yahoo! Mail are also compatible with your device. Your regular MMS and SMS messaging services are in place and instant messaging allows you to chat online via providers like GoogleTalk and WindowsLive. So we have established that owning the Sony Ericsson X10 Mini Pro will undoubtedly improve the standard of your social life but will it keep you entertained? Well the 5 mega pixel camera does a great job of capturing those special moments, the high resolution pictures look very clear and the colour saturation is well balanced, it has auto focus and flash which doubles up as a video light when recording high quality videos. The X10 Mini Pro has full YouTube integration, so you can check out your favourite clips or upload some of your own. The video player is pretty good, it can handle quite a few different formats and the playback quality is definitely not the worst I have seen. A built-in music player will help you manage your music collection and the 3.5mm jack lets you plug in and listen with your own personal headphones, the phones memory can be expanded with microSD cards up to 16GB and the Bluetooth connectivity allows you to share files with friends and connect to other compatible devices. The Android OS gives you access to the Android Market so if you decide you want more apps, more games or perhaps a change of theme this should be the first place you look.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro may be the biggest name for a phone ever, this tiny little piece of mobile technology packs a big punch, great web connectivity, and full social network integration with a Facebook manager and with its storage possibilities and Android Market exposure you will be kept busy for quite a while. Sony Ericsson has certainly succeeded in creating a compact Smartphone messenger!
