subject: Dubai Motivational Speaker How To Write A Book Social Media Camp [print this page]

One of the best ways to brand yourself as an expert in your chosen niche or community is to write a book.

Did that make you go cold?

Well, it may come as a shock to you, but you have a book inside you that everyone wants to read.

I am NOT talking about your autobiography. If you want to write it, that's fine but I guarantee, it will end up on the coffee table of your closest friends and family UNREAD with the rest languishing in rotting cardboard boxes in your garage or someone else's.

Well, whilst that fact that at least one book is lying dormant in your subconscious mind is definitely true, I'd like to qualify it further. You have the ability to create a book that a small but highly significant community of people would pay anything to get their hands on.

Whomever you are, whatever you do and wherever you live.

I know how easy it is.

I've already written 4.

We may be talking about a small significant niche but whatever the group - they can't get enough of it.

Also once you have written the book that they want to read, then they will all buy a copy and love you for it.

So your first question is probably the following... 'What if I don't have a clue what to write about?' Well let's answer that by taking a scientific approach - ask your group!

If you survey them about whatever subject they love to chat about (let's take for instance something which probably has an extremely small niche like 'Knitting with your toes', you will find that the 'toe knitting community' has worries about such things as

1) Getting the wool to stay on the needles

2) Finding patterns that are easily adapted for toe knitting

3) Knitting in cold countries where you really want to be wearing socks

4) Knitting for the family before Xmas when you know you are on a tight deadline

etc

Now as a keen toe knitter, you will have thoughts and answers to all of these issues. You also have a title for your book...

'How to knit Xmas presents (using all types of wool) for the entire family when living in a cold country in a month or less.'

Okay.

We started with a bit of a weird subject but you get the basic idea?

Now you have to do the rest of the book.

This is easy.

There are a million and one ways to write that book and I will be showing everyone how at my blog at Dave Crane TV.

I will give you a tip though that will help.

Start with the end in mind. To do this you need some cool questions (write these down...)

Ask yourself...

Why am I doing this?

What do I want - credibility, cash, notoriety, significance, the chance to shake things up a bit etc...

Who will want your book?

Why will they buy it?

Is there a bigger picture here - like selling a training course, seminar events, audio versions of the book, a DVD set, a VIP membership site, a one-to-one coaching course etc?

How will they pay for it?

When do I want to finish it?

How big will it be?

Who in that industry will help me make it because they will benefit from the book?

Can I get a sponsor?

Can I get a relevant celebrity to endorse it in the introduction?

How many copies do I have to sell to make it a success in my eyes?

Can I self publish or should I try and get a big publisher to take me on their books?

All of these are part of the big picture and will allow you to focus on the 'why's' before you start on the 'hows'.

I will save the 'hows' for another article except to say that once you start writing (and you can even have terrible grammar) you will open a whole new beautiful dimension to your work that will enhance your relationship with your chosen community, gather friends and online followers daily and mark you as a visionary in your industry.

I can show you how to do that in less than 30 days.

Let's discuss it before the toe knitting season really kicks in.
