subject: Will Energy Drinks Help You Look Better And Feeling Better [print this page]

For many years, energy drinks were seen as nothing more than fanciful soft drinks. They were mostly formulations that people used for recreational purposes. Through the use of those drinks, you could make yourself feel somewhat 'high' (thanks to the heightened energetic feeling). In countries where alcohol is prohibited, it was usually only through the stimulating effect of some energy drinks that you could mildly alter your mood at any given point legally.

Makers of the drinks came to realize over the years that, this 'recreation drink' tag wasn't selling well enough. What most people were looking for was not a recreation drink, or one that would simply increase their energy levels 'just for the sake of it.' And where it is a recreational drink they were after, most had access to more potent substances. A much catchier tagline had to be worked out, and the end result was the birth of the energy drinks that 'promise more.'

Most of these energy 'advanced' drinks still come with the basic promise of increasing their user's energy levels. But over and above that, they also tend to come with other promises. One is the promise to help their users to lose weight. This is in line with most people's aspirations at the moment; as the problem of the bulge evolves into a full blow health epidemic, claiming million of lives and compromising people's quality of life. From such a background, a product coming with the promise to help users lose weight would be certain to be a hot sell. Other promises, like one to help with skin rejuvenation, immunity boosts and so on are added to the basic promise to help the users be more energetic.

In a nutshell, then, what most of these modern energy drinks do is promise their users to make them look and feel better.

And in actual fact, this promise to make their users look and feel better is one that most of these energy drinks actually go on to deliver.

In terms of helping their users feel better, one of the most obvious mechanisms for promise delivery is that of simply increasing their energy levels. Being properly energized is one of the best feelings you can ever experience. But most of these drinks go beyond this. Some contain stimulants such as caffeine, which can have a psychological stimulating effect (leading to what turns out to be a very pleasant mild euphoric effect for some users). There are those, like the increasingly popular acai-berry based energy drinks, which boost their users' immunity systems, helping them avoid the ill feeling that would come with the various infections.

In terms of helping their users look better, we have most energy drinks coming with the promise to help their users lose weight. This they do both by boosting their metabolism rates and energizing them towards more physical activity. Some, like the acai-berry based energy drinks, will also tend to supply their user's bodies with antioxidants; which have a marked skin rejuvenation effect.

So in the final analysis, there is indeed some hope, in terms of looking better and feeling better with the help of modern energy drinks.
