So we spoke to Max the bouncer who works the door at one of Sydneys number 1 venues to help understand how the mind of the bouncer works.
You see, what people have to understand is, if you look like a trouble maker, we arent gonna let you in... You might be a good guy but Im not going to take the chance. The reasons we give are just designed to be non confrontational, so you leave without carrying on like a muppet... but in saying that, sometimes we like to have a bit of fun with them

What they say: Sorry we cant let you in with those shoes
What they mean: We were never going to let you in and your shoes a shit
What they say: No rats tails
What they mean: It doesnt matter, if you have a rats tail, you werent going to pick up anyway... and get a haircut
What they say: Guest list only
What they mean: Youre a bloke, if you were a girl, different story
What they say: Too many guys, go get some girls and you can come in
What they mean: Im challenging you to get girls... and I dont think you have a chance
What they say: Youre too drunk
What they mean: Youre too drunk
What they say: Sorry no opened toed shoes inside of this nightclub
What they mean: We think youre hot, but we are working and if we cant have you no one can
