Speed up downloading Web pages by using Vector Markup Language On the Tools menu, click Options.

Click the General tab, and then click Web Options.

Click the Browsers tab.

Under Options, select the Rely on VML for displaying graphics in browsers check box. If you turn on this advanced Web option, and you view a Web page in a browser that does not recognize graphics in VML format (such as Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or earlier), you will not see any graphics. Even though your graphics don't appear in a Web browser, you can always open your Web page in your Office application to edit the graphics. Once finished uncheck Rely on VML for displaying graphics in browsers check box. Other useful tips for speeding-up internet Surf when Internet traffic is low. Heaviest traffic is usually on weekends and evenings. Use your cache effectively. "Cache" refers to storage space where your recently visited Web sites are saved. You may need to resize your cache allotment, or you may need to purge your cache periodically. Look through your browser's menus for items named Cache, Temporary Internet files and so on. Consult with your Internet service provider to ensure that your modem is configured correctly. If you are still using a dial-up modem then you could replace it with a fast-access connection such as wave, ISDN, DSL, satellite, a cable modem and so on.
