subject: Use Baby Room Stencils To Decorate [print this page]

Did you know that most parents cant paint a mural to save their lives? Thats not stopping them from turning out creative, beautiful bay rooms, though! They just use baby room stencils to create incredible nurseries that any child would love.

Stencils are kind of like cheating, but in a good way. They let you enjoy the creative process because they are going to come out great every time. Someone else has already done the work for you and you merely need to add the color. Its very easy to use baby room stencils once youve tried them.

Before you get started, there are a few things you need to know. First, youll have to stick the stencil down to make sure that it isnt going to move and give you wonky lines. This can be done with masking tape on two sides or you can use a spray on temporary stick spray. Just make sure its designed for stencils and wont ruin the wall.

When using baby room stencils, make sure you plan your design ahead of time. For example, if youre doing a DIY star nursery, youll want to plan out where the stars are going and what sizes they should be. This is something that can be done pretty easily but it makes all the difference in the finished product.

Stencils have edges where paint can leak under and ruin the effect. If you want a flawless look, you should use a stencil brush or sponge, very lightly loaded with paint. Tap it on a piece of plastic or paper if necessary to get rid of extra paint that could seep under the stencil.

Now work from the edges inwards. This gives a nice gradient effect and helps prevent bleeding issues with the paint. Youll have beautifully stenciled designs in no time.
