In a recent post I shared with you on how to create a successful FaceBook Fan Page, I received feedback from you asking me how I created my own personalised username for my FaceBook FanPage. Thats actually a very simple thing to do.
Before, personally it was actually quite hard to find but it's not. Its inside a specific link which you need to go to.
Steps In Creating A Username
The first thing to do is to log into your account. Once youve logged in, there are two ways to go about changing your username. The first one is to type it in at the top here and simply hit Enter. What will happen is itll ask you to firstly verify your account. Once youve verified by getting them to send a text message to your mobile then you can start to proceed updating your username. Ill go ahead and do that right now and Ill come back to show you how to set it up.
After verifying the mobile, Ill jump straight back to Facebook.com/username. Because Ive also already chosen a username, I can only do this once at most, it doesnt anymore allow me to change it to anything else. But basically once you go through this screen, just follow step by step instructions that show you exactly what to choose. Make sure you choose a good username that youll never forget.
FaceBook Fanpage Usernames
The other thing I want to mention as well is if you do have Pages like Ive got a Fanpage, what you can do is set a username there as well. You click on Set a username for Pages; choose the Pages that you want to set then basically type in the username that you want for that. This is what Ive come up with: Facebook.com/tyroneshumfans. Thats basically my username for my Fanpage. Thats how you go about changing your username and the most important thing is make sure you choose the right one because once youve put it in, you cannot change it anymore.
This is how you change your FaceBook username. If you havent done it, I highly recommend you do it because its easier to remember and easy to direct yourself straight to your page. Also, please do remember that for you to create a username for your FaceBook Fanpage, you'll need to have atleast 25 fans first so change in username will be available as well. If not, you'll still need to enhance promoting of your page to get started.
