Taught program
Taught programs are of the Masters degree origin but in this case more time devoted to learning the material at classroom or at laboratory, at the workshop. Or it could be seminars. Research program

Te time of studying this program starts from three years and can be extended to ten years or even more. It is the most upper-division degree in postgraduate studies. At this level you can get a Doctor of Philosophy. There will be not too much of learning material at classes and seminars, but more of your own research. This dissertation is unique and should be near 70,000-100000 words long.
