subject: Plasma Tv Stands - A Necessity For Plasma Tv Owners [print this page]

The plasma TV stand is a must for most of today's plasma television models, as many are not capable of standing on their own.

Most of today's plasma televisions do not have legs or other types of built-in stands to hold themselves up. A stand is one of the best options, there are also plasma wall mounts but if mounting your TV on the wall is just not an option than plasma television stands is the only way to go.

There are three primary types of these stands. The first of which is the least expensive, and is the stationary stand. These are also the easiest to find. Next is the swivel stand, which allows you to adjust the view from side to side, which is perfect for most living rooms. The last and most expensive option is the pivot stand. These allow you to adjust the TV up and down and side to side. These are not only the most expensive, but they are also the hardest to come by -- but they are perfect for a theater-like experience at home. There are also those that are not wall mounted, which vary greatly in price depending on the material that they are made out of.

Your needs and budget should determine which type you get. The least pricey option, the stationary, has the least features but it is also the easiest to find. Those that are not wall mounted are typically the most difficult to find because of the high demand for the mounted varieties. These are sometimes found in department stores, but are most often found in furniture or electronics specialty stores.

Looking around, you can find most varieties in electronics retailers, department stores, some warehouse stores, and online.

There are some really nice options; one of the most important considerations is to be sure the stands that are being looked at can hold the weight. Plasma TV's are very heavy and have glass fronts, being sure they can be supported is very important. Plasma TV stands are a definite must if your TV is not going to be hung on a wall. Cost should always be considered and looking at customer reviews is also a good idea.
