subject: Rock The Harley-davidson Leathers [print this page]

Knowing the best way to give a present to a loved one can be difficult. If your boyfriend has a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, your options might be a little bit easier to figure out. A leather men's jacket with the iconic logo on the back would be a great gift for a Harley-Davidson owner. If they already have a jacket, they might want a new and different one.

I have a friend who has three Harley-Davidson Jackets. They are all distinct and different. Sleek black leather with the Legendary Eagle logo on the back of one, another with chains on the wrists and pockets, a third that looks more weathered but still completely iconic. I would guess that if his girlfriend got him another jacket for Christmas, he would be more than happy to accept it. Harley-Davidson logo wear is something that is highly collectible and holds its value well, like the bikes themselves.

As a company established in 1907 that survived the Great Depression, Harley-Davidson has a way of getting fans for life. In 1983, Harley-Davidson established the Harley Owners Group or HOG to build further Harley-Davidson brand loyalty. HOG has a huge following of more than a million members worldwide. The company founded in 1907 has grown to be the most distinctive motorcycle brand in the world. Leather jackets wore originally worn not as a fashion statement, but as a protective measure for riders to wear to deflect road debris.

In case of wipe outs, leathers offer a degree of protection from gravel or road burn. The strength of the Harley-Davidson line has always been the larger more heavy bikes. These have lead to the establishment of the 'chopper' style as individuals customized and built their own bikes. Allowing freedom of personal expression furthers the idea of Harley-Davidson reflecting the American ideals of freedom and individuality.

If you are concerned about protecting the environment and think leather is inherently evil, Harley-Davidson also offers animal-free apparel. You don't have to have a leather jacket to look cool. You could wear something sissy like a T-shirt or hoodie. You can still look cool and be a vegan. Supporting animal rights can be a difficult life choice, but you can be strong.

Or you can ride the most awesome machine and look the complete part. Ride the machine, wear the jacket. Or just trying wearing the jacket for a while first. You might end up wanting to own the machine too.
