subject: Being Guided and Examined [print this page]

What is being said here is that the lecturers, as supervisors and examiners, must play their role objectively. Students can't be victim forever. Students have to be guided at very beginning time they do their research for their subject requirement. It is too late asking or demanding students to be good, without training them at very beginning. Reading books is important, but guidance from the supervisors is more expensive than gold. Be a good researcher needs a long process, if the students are guided at the very beginning time, it must be true that they can accomplish their thesis and dissertation on time. For the lecturer as examiner, it is not always true that lecturer is knower than student. The thesis and dissertation the students had written are owned by the students, and not the supervisor. Forcing students to be "foot and hand" just kills students' creativity and that makes the thesis and dissertation authenticity questioned.
