subject: Growing Popularity Of Caravans [print this page]

There is no doubt about it, staying in a caravan is back in vogue. Holidays in sunnier climes abroad, or the competition from alternative self-catering packages, had seen caravanning holidays fall out of favour. But the pendulum has begun to swing back. In fact, so much so that more and more people are now beginning to discover the joys of owning their own caravan.

Why has this happened? Much of this renewed popularity is down to the increased size and luxury fittings of the modern fixed caravan. They are now quite different from the cramped boxes some of us remember from childhood.

We all like a little bit of luxury when we are away from home and the modern caravan certainly provides that. In fact, with fitted kitchen, luxury bedrooms, ample storage space, toilets and showers all linked up to the water and power supply, they are excellent for self catering holidays or as a place to stay and rewind whenever we want.

Many people have been turned on to staying in a caravan by renting one, before making the decision to go out and buy. And there is no shortage of choice. Typically, pre-used caravans can be purchased from GBP9,000 and new ones from GBP20,000. And many vendors will be able able to help you find the financial facility to help you purchase one.

Of course, before making the purchase you will need to pick which caravan is the one for you. The choice is extensive, with a variety of styles and sizes to appeal to you and your family. So if it's two bedrooms you want, or three, just look at what is on offer.

One of the joys of owning your caravan is the location. Most of the country's holiday and beauty spots boast their own sites. And these sites themselves have wonderful facilities. Many people who decide to buy a caravan do so at resorts and locations they have already become fond of though previous holidays.
