subject: Handling Headaches [print this page] Headaches can come at the worst of timesHeadaches can come at the worst of times. I understand personally, as I use to be prone to these for quite some time whilst I'd been a kid growing up. Along the way, I developed my personal approach which actually made my headaches less severe, and significantly cut down the length of time it took for them to clear. It is this I'd wish to reveal to you today in the following paragraphs.
Obviously, headaches can take place for a wide range of reasons. You may be extremely tired, stressed, or it could even be something as simple as listening to music which was too loud for lengthy amounts of time. Whatever the reason for getting a headache, I've always found that drinking a whole lot of water helps it to go much faster. I normally try to drink no less than 2 litres of water on a standard day anyway, however , if I've got a headache, I'll go that bit further, and will keep a glass of water, or a bottle close to hand.
On another note, I'll also keep away from fruit juice. I'm not sure on the exact science behind it, but in my experience, orange juice, and indeed almost every other type of juice generally make my headaches that bit more worse. The same also applies to chocolate, or every other sugary product.
An evident option would be to have a headache tablet. I won't get into the specifics, as it depends upon the headache tablet, as well as your relation to medication, but this is a brilliant way in which to rid myself of the pain of a headache. Please though, if you do decide to go this route, read the instructions included in the package carefully to make sure that it won't result in any harm.
When I have a headache, I try and do as little as possible. I'll more or less shut myself away. I'll try to avoid the computer or TV, keep clear of bright lights and noise, and will basically endeavour to shut myself in a dark room and get a lie down on a bed to get some rest, and enable my brain to recoup from its issue. I've found the more I do when I have a headache, the worse the headache gets as the day goes on.
