Before we get into Flight Pro Sim, let's talk about flight simulation games in general though.
In the past few years, flight simulation has gotten pretty advanced. I think that the computers have finally caught up to the game designers imaginations and they make all kinds of things possible like changing weather, amazing graphics and wind turbulence.
A few of the more notable improvements in modern simulation are animatronics, graphics and convenience (ease of use). As compared to flight simulation software of the past, today's games really are a cut above those delivered even last year.
If you're a casual flight sim gamer, you're going to be looking at flight sim software like Flight Pro Sim. Flight Sim Pro needs only a PC to function and has some incredible quality and detail. If you're looking for some of the higher end flight simulation options, you're going to be looking for setups the require software, addons and additional components like dashboard clusters and pedals.
There are some out there that require more than the standard issue computer parts, but I haven't quite got there yet.
One of the major benefits of flight simulation for pilots is the education you can get from the game. More advanced systems are used by NASA and the RAA Flying School for teaching pilots and astronauts how to fly. Flight Pro Sim isn't that extensible, but it isn't that expensive either! Some of those bigger setups can cost thousands of dollars!
There are some features that I really like about Flight Pro Sim, including its 20,000+ airports and 100+ aircraft that you can pick to make your flight in. That includes helicopters too! To this day, I still dream of flying a helicopter. I've had my pilots license for 4 years but flying a helicopter would just be so much fun!
Flight Pro Sim also has combat military aircraft and early Wright style planes that you can pick from! And the cockpit details are so amazing! Imagine sitting in one of those, about to take to the sky!
Another cool feature is the terrain. Flight Pro Sim has some of the best looking, best modeled terrain I've ever seen. The devlopers worked long and hard to make it look as real as possible. In fact, the terrain is modeled after US Defense Mapping and NASA information and the quality is apparent.
As icing on the cake, Flight Pro Sim uses time zones, lunar patterns and changing weather to really add an element of realism to the game. Take off and you may be experiencing a completely different plane ride when you're ready to land!
Flight Pro Sim is the type of game that'll have you entertained for hours. Now, your wife may not like that much, but at least it'll keep you out of her hair!
