subject: How Much Do You Tip Movers? [print this page] Recently, my family and I moved from Tampa, Florida to Orlando, Florida. I didn't know where to start, I wasn't sure if I was supposed to look for Tampa Movers or for an Orlando Moving Company.
After checking the prices for both a Tampa moving company as well asOrlando Movers, I decided it would be best to go with Tampa Movers,68 just because I wanted to start my move early in the morning and I thought they could be there sooner than the Orlando Moving Company.
I didn't have alot in my budget for the move as I have two kids, a husband and a dog to feed on a one person income, so I scowered the internet looking for any moving coupons and discounts I could find. I was lucky enough to find a coupon for 10% off my total move, which helps alot.
Well the day of the move I had 3 Tampa movers in my home and they arrived at around 10:30am, their scheduled time was between 8-11am but I know this normal in the moving industry for a Tampa Moving Company to schedule a window of their arrival time, just like the cable guy would.
The Tampa movers came into my home and went over my inventory list and checked it against what I had in my home. There were a few items that were not on the list so the price was a bit higher than I had expected. One of the Tampa Movers, I believe he was the man in charge, pointed out that they would have to re-pack my plasma tv, and my glass dining table because I had not packed it correctly. I protested a bit, but then realized it was better to pay a few extra dollars to pack it, as opposed to a few thousand to replace it.
The Tampa Movers worked very hard all day, and only rested a few times, which I appreciated since I was paying by the hour. I do understand that it is very hard work, so I offered to make them lunch and gave them soda throughout the day. They said I was very kind, some people don't even offer them water.
At the end of everyone was tired, including my dog. I wanted to show the Tampa movers that I appreciated all their hard work. I told them I would recommend their Tampa moving company, and they said they appreciate it because they are a small Tampa moving company and their business could use the recommendations. I also was not sure what to tip them, so I asked them flat out what was a normal tip. They were honest and said that most people tip Tampa movers anywhere between $20-$50 each.
